Discover the secret of --> Peeling The Potato- move your cursor over the potato picture!
Peeling the potato is the archetype of the ritual chant. But the singer himself is not singing. He is cutting the skin of the potato in a waveform. You know that, the graphs of audio-files look similar to waveform as the a result we get from peeling the potato. Listening to sounds by seeing got lost, as result of the evolutionary process. I believe the primitive man had no ears at the beginning. Without ears you can not hear. The eye took over this perception. Beethoven became deaf at the end of his life. He composed music without hearing. I was listening to the choir of the deaf community in Nuremberg, at the ecumenical church convention 2010 in Munich.
Ultimately, perceptions are always subjective. Wittgenstein called this the Private Language. "Whereas others can learn of my pain, for example, I simply have my own pain; it follows that one does not know of one's own pain, one simply has a pain." For Wittgenstein, this is a grammatical point, part of the way in which the language-game involving the word "pain" is played. Only the reflection, as a result of the cognitive process, can be interpreted, discussed and compared. Nevertheless - the knowledge sticks to the subjectivity of its preceding perception. Want to say - You can hear potato peelings. - Only this way It is possible to feel art. Move cursor over the picture on the left!
